Tether RE Featured in Inman for Launch of Tether Guardian

Inman’s latest Tech Roundup highlights our new wearable safety device and its role in supporting real estate agents working alone.

Tether RE was featured in Inman’s October 7 Tech Roundup, which spotlighted the launch of Tether Guardian, our wearable safety device that connects agents to a live monitoring professional at the press of a button or when a fall is detected.

The coverage explores how brokerages can make Tether Guardian available to agents heading to showings, open houses and vacant listings—providing an additional way to reach help without having to navigate a phone app in a tense moment.

Designed to complement the Tether RE app, Tether Guardian offers GPS location, hands-free two-way communication and up to 45 days of battery life. It connects to Tether RE’s UL-listed monitoring center, which has an average response time of 9.4 seconds.

“Tether Guardian is not a replacement for the Tether RE app. It is an additional tool,” said Vanessa Martin, co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of Tether RE. “Agents keep everything they rely on in the app, and now brokers have a simple wearable they can hand an agent heading out to a showing. The same goes for any business with people who work alone. If something feels wrong, a real person is on the line in seconds.”

Inman also highlighted an important gap: real estate agents are typically independent contractors, meaning lone-worker panic-button requirements generally do not cover them. The article points to broker-supplied wearables as one way to help address that gap.

We’re pleased to see agent safety included in Inman’s coverage of the technology shaping real estate—and to share how Tether Guardian adds another way for agents to stay connected to live support while working alone.
